Our own Margaret Thatcher

I have voted Republican since Reagan won in 1980. I beleive in an expansive agressive Presidency. This year my first choice is John McCain but Hillary Clinton is second. I wrote earlier, back August 2007, regarding my support for both candidates.

I was very happy they both won the New Hampshire primary. Both seem like serious leaders who have proven themselves over their careers. They are DOERS not talkers. Hillary worked as a volunteer on the 1964 Barry Goldwater Presidential Campaign. In 1974, after graduating Yale Law School, she worked as a researcher for the House Judicary Committee on the impreachment of Richard Nixon. She taught Law at the Univeristy of Akansas and helped shape policy for her husband's white house.

John McCain is the grandson and son of two Navy Admirals. He graduated the Naval Academy at Annapolis and learned to fly fighters off of aircraft carriers. He was shot down over Hanoi and broke both legs and an arm in the crash landing. He was tortured and refused early release. His father was US Commander of Naval Forces in the Pacific. The Viet Cong offer him release and he refused unless all other prisoners would be released with him. He spent over 5 years as a prisoner of war.

The last five years have been tough for Americans. We are hated throughout much of the world. Our Economy is hurting and our enemies would like us to fail. We really need a tough President to lead us into the next four years.

I guess I'm saying this: If you look at a candidate and you say to your self.." I can kick his or her ass". Then don't vote for them. We need a hard ass President if we expect to survive and I don't see anyone tougher then McCain or Clinton.
